Short Message Service
 


BOCI Securities is currently providing the following two major Short Message Services (SMS).


Trade Confirmation Service
 
 
Customers are now able to receive short messages through mobiles confirming the details of their securities transactions (i.e., order execution, order cancellation or deduction of shares quantity ).  Instant short message will be automatically sent out once the trade instruction has been successfully executed in the market.  This is an exclusive free service to our BOCI Securities accountholders and no charges will be applied in receiving these confirmations.  And of course, customers may review their full transaction records via daily & monthly statements for further reference.


Easy steps to enable the SMS Trade Confirmation Service: 
 
Step 1) Logon to BOCI Online Securities Account
Step 2) Click "Accounts" from the top menu bar
Step 3) Click " View/ Edit Account Profile" from the left menu bar then click “ Update” to enable 
           the change.
Step 4) Check out the box in "Short Messaging System" in the middle of the page to activate
           the service.
 


Price Alert
 
SMS price alert service is provided by AAStocks.com Limited.  Customers can receive a SMS message once the stock price has reached in real time to a price in which you previously set up based on your criteria.  There is a charge of HK$1.00 for every price alert SMS message requested and customers are required to registered the mobile numbers separately with AAStocks.com Limited. 
 
Easy steps to enable the SMS Price Alert Service: 
 
Step 1) Logon to BOCI Online Securities Account
Step 2) Click "Quotes & News" from the top menu bar
Step 3) Click " Subscriptions" from the left menu bar and choose "SMS Price Alert" by clicking
           "Subscribe".
Step 4) Then go to AAStocks "Watch List", choose "SMS Alerts" to enter your mobile
           numbers and price alert criteria.



Remarks:  SMS is broadly accepted with all GSM and PCS (GSM 1800) network providers in Hong Kong. However, CDMA and TDMA networks are not compatible at the moment. The availability of SMS depends on your mobile phone network service provider and the destination country. Please note that in some countries other than Hong Kong where overseas SMS roaming service is also available, customers may be charged (e.g., long distance calls) for receiving such service. Customers are advised to check with their mobile phone network service providers on the potential charges for enabling SMS services. BOCI is not providing SMS to China mobile numbers at the moment.
